DIPLOMA IN SPINAL MANIPULATION - OMT TRAINING

Register for both the Levels together (Basic and Advanced) and get the Diploma in Spinal Manipulation at a discounted rate of AED 4750/- ( instead of AED 5200). And get an Additional FREE One Year access to Online OMT training modules of Cervical and Lumbar.

OMT Training will introduce the participants of OMT Spinal Manipulation into the theoretical and practical principals of using Manipulation techniques within a clinical setting for the treatment of a number of musculoskeletal conditions.

This 2 Day Practical Training Course will give students the following:

  • 16 hours of face to face teaching

  • Continued assessment throughout the course

  • 30-45 mins written competency test for all students

  • Safe, sound and effective background in the use of OMT Spinal Manipulation

  • OMT Spinal Manipulation will offer participants a fantastic new skill base with which they can use within their clinical practice

  • Discuss scientific evidence for the use of manipulation techniques

  • Discuss current research for the use of Manipulation

  • Relate the use of Manipulation to the treatment of acute and chronic pain, and for a number of musculoskeletal conditions

  • Give students a high level of safety, clinical competence and overall the confidence to use manipulation techniques

Spinal Manipulative techniques for the following spinal sections:

  • Cervical Thoracic Junction (C7-T1)

  • Thoracic Spine (T1-T12)

  • Ribs

  • Thoracic Lumbar Junction (T12-L1)

  • Lumbar Spine (L1-S1)

Note - HVT to OA, AA, C1-C6 and SIJ are not covered over this four day spinal manipulation course. Techniques for cervical mobilisation and articulation along with active and passive examination for the cervical spine will be covered.

Please Note:

  • This course requires ALL students to receive and administer manipulation

  • Students should NOT attend this course if there is any reason that prevents FULL participation

  • This course is NOT suitable for participants who are pregnant

  • Course handbooks will be provided, and the content of the handbook will be underpinned by a structured PowerPoint presentation by the lecturers

  • Students will be expected to take extra notes regarding areas and techniques that will require more specific explanation or detailed clarification

  • The handbook and PowerPoints are solely to be used as an aide memoire; the lecturers will adapt the content of the course depending on the student's backgrounds or therapeutic discipline

  • Students are ADVISED to refresh their knowledge of relevant anatomy and physiology prior to attending the course. If students fail to show the required level of knowledge they may be asked to leave the course


Advanced Spinal Manipulation - OMT 

Its a 2 Day Workshop in advanced manipulative techniques for:

  • OA, AA Thrust Techniques
  • Cervical Spine Manipulation (C1-C7 / Grade V Techniques)
  • Techniques shown but not limited to:
  • Cervical Spine - OA & AA
  • Sacro Iliac Joint - SIJ
  • Gleno - Humeral Joint - G/H
  • Elbow
  • Wrist
  • Hand
  • Foot

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate a consolidation of existing knowledge and performance in pre-thrust spinal positioning for HVT thrust techniques
  • Demonstrate a consolidation of existing knowledge and performance in the use of HVT thrust techniques for the spine, thorax, pelvis and peripheral manipulation techniques
  • Describe and demonstrate minimal leverage, long and short lever techniques

 

OMT Advanced Spinal Manipulation is tailored to meet the needs of participants in addressing frequently encountered problems with the safe and effective delivery of specific HVT thrust techniques, it looks to build your existing knowledge within HVT spinal manipulation and developing and refining your current skill base.

All techniques will be taught with an emphasis on final minor adjustments using minimal force and short and long lever techniques. This bespoke training course has been delivered and taught to therapists worldwide, with the OMT team, training prestigious organisations such as the medical teams at Liverpool FC and Manchester City FC.

OMT Advanced Spinal Manipulation is aimed at therapists with previous experience and relevant qualifications within manipulative therapies, such as Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Sports Therapists we aim to take your skills up to the next level with this challenging and highly rewarding technique classes.



Day 1

9 am – 9.15 am: Registration

9.15 – 10.15 am: Spinal Manipulation Theory

10.15 am – 10.30 am: Coffee Break

10.30 am – 11.30 am: Neurophysiological effects of manipulation. 

11.30 am – 12.30 am: Specificity of Manipulation and Contraindications.

12.30 pm – 1.30 pm: Prayer and Lunch

1.30 pm – 2.30 pm: Practical Session: Prone Thoracic Manipulation T2-T10.

(The Instructor will demonstrate the assessment and manipulation of the Thoracic spine in Prone Position).

2.30 pm – 3.30 pm: Practical Session: Cervico - Thoracic Junction: C7-T1.

(The Instructor will demonstrate the assessment and manipulation of the Cervico - thoracic spine)

3.30 pm – 3.45 pm: Coffee Break

3.45 pm – 4.45 pm: Practical Session: Ribs: R3 – R10.

(The Instructor will demonstrate the assessment and manipulation of the Ribs)

4.45 pm – 5.45 pm: Practical Session: Supine Thoracic Manipulation T2-T10.

(The Instructor will demonstrate the assessment and manipulation of the Thoracic spine in Supine Position).

5.45 pm – 6.45 pm: Q&A and learning consolidation

10.45 am – 11.00 am: Coffee Break

11.00 am – 12.00 pm: Practical Session: Upper Ribs & Shoulder.

(The Instructor will demonstrate the assessment and manipulation of the Upper Ribs & Shoulder).

12.00 pm – 1.00 pm Lunch and Prayer Break

1.00 pm – 2.00 pm: Practical Session: Lumbar Spine T12 – L1.

(The Instructor will demonstrate the assessment and manipulation of Lumbar Spine T12 – L1).

2.00 pm – 3.00 pm: Practical Session: Lumbar Spine L2-L5/S1.

(The Instructor will demonstrate the assessment and manipulation of Lumbar Spine L2-L5/S1).

3.00 pm – 3.15 pm: Coffee Break

3.15 pm – 4.15 pm: Practical Session: Sacro-iliac Joint.

(The Instructor will demonstrate the assessment and manipulation of Sacro-iliac Joint).

4.15 pm – 5.15 pm: Q & A, Learning Consolidation

Participants will form groups and practice the technique, with correct hand positioning, understand its application in patients with low back pain, radiating pain and other lumbar cases.

Upper Extremity - Includes Discussion and Practical Demonstration and Student Practice

Demonstration and Student Practice.

Participants will form groups and practice the technique, with correct hand positioning, understand its application in patients with pain in all the joints of the upper limb, radiating pain and other cases of pain localized in the upper limb.

12.15pm -1.15 pm

Prayer and lunch  break

1.15 pm – 2.15 pm

Lower Extremity - Includes Discussion and Practical Demonstration and Student Practice.

Participants will form groups and practice the technique, with correct hand positioning, understand its application in patients with pain in Fibula Head,  Sub-Talar and Tibio-Talar joints of the lower limb, radiating pain and other cases of pain localized in the lower limb.

2.15pm -3.15 pm

Lower Extremity - Includes Discussion and Practical Demonstration and Student Practice.

Participants will form groups and practice the technique, with correct hand positioning, understand its application in patients with pain in  Navicular/Cuboid, Talo-Calcaneal, Cuboid joints of the lower limb, radiating pain and other cases of pain localized in the lower limb.
